Teardown island is a state, part of the Isolated Other Games Region, and part of the 29 states of the Jatoverse country, the island is considered the most seismically active island of the Isolated Other Games region.
Seismicity
Teardown sits on the southern Jatoverse subduction zone, an active blind subduction zone that goes beneath the Osteglorth plate. It is also home to the Löckelle-Ŋurvelmarkön fault-zone. Between January 9th, 2025 & July 29th, 2025, more than 7300+ earthquakes were registered on the region as a link of a volcanic swarm and the subsequent eruption of the Rödšivar Volcano, releasing more than 130,000,000 tons of ash and forcing more than 70,000 people to evacuate, including part of the Ŋurvelmarkön region. The largest earthquake of the swarm was a left-lateral strike-slip Mesq 6.4 30k, from Ulvakylden at a depth of 9.5km, 3 people were killed and 45 injured.
The largest earthquake on Teardown was on October 9th, 1799 when a Mesq 8.1 struck 10km from Våtriksönvar, registering JMIS 8, had destroyed 90% of Våtriksönvar, and killed more than 1,800 people and unknown injuries, it is also reported a "firewhirl" formed north of Våtriksönvar, registering JF1, killed 3 people and setting 75 homes on fire. The town of Våtriksönvar was left abandoned and subsequently moved to the Parvelmarkön district, just 25km from it's original land.
The deadliest earthquake on Teardown happened on Februrary 9th, 1999 when a Mesq 6.4 earthquake struck 600m from the capital city of Teardown, Löckelle City, at a depth of 1.1km, the earthquake killed more than 17,000 people and is one of the few earthquakes that registered JMIS 9 (MMI XI). More than 30% of houses in Löckelle collapsed and also remains the 6th costliest earthquake in Jatoverse history. The earthquake struck at 10:53 PM JAT (6:53PM UTC 0+), which led to various people having their roofs collapse and unable to evacuate. A foreshock occured 1 hour before the earthquake at registered Mesq 4.3, with a JMIS intensity of 4. This led to the partial destruction of T3 of Löckelle - Zornikmarkön airport, killing 10 inside of the airport, a landslide triggered a tsunami of 10ft (3m) in Löckelle, causing tsunamis to strike Teardown, Gameoverse, BFDI & surrounding areas.
History
Prehistory & Ulbnak tribes
The earliest known inhabitation in the island of Teardown was 154.000 years ago, first arriving in southern Teardown Island from distant lands on modern-day Jatoverse. Archeological evidence shows that most refugeed following a major ice-age during 100.530 years ago that killed 10% of the Jatoverse's population. They're also one of the few tribes that were late to the neolithic area due to the extreme isolation and very limited resources in the island.
Before the great conquest of the Länkull tribe, the island was ethnically populated with the Ulbnak tribes that were found in majority of the area, with important settlements such as Numlöm, Yaknikov, and most importantly, Ŋurvelmarkön cities. Culture varied, as a demography study showed that most of the island was a mix of tribes such as Ulbnak, Maoplar, Yomge & Surva tribes, who moved into the islands not long after a massive eruption in Mänblor (modern-day Murder Drones) that wiped out 70% of the Maoplar tribes.
Länkull conquest and the War of the Southern Kingdoms
Around ~630BC according to majority of the sources, a war broke out between most of the tribes from the Länkull tribes. These tribes originated from Danish genetics, similar to the vikings. The Länkull conquest took 70 years until taking most of the Isolated Other Games Fandom and parts of the Jatoverse. An estimate roughs around 13,000 - 50,000 were killed during the fierce conquest of the Länkull Germanic Tribes.
During the reign, the island of Teardown has been named "Orvak-Markön" (literal transation: fire-land). The island saw major trades such as the production of oil, fabric & gold from various other lands that the Länkull people owned.
By 150 AD, the highest population the island observed was around 150,000 people, later saw 10% wiped out during a tsunami in 153 AD that devastated most of the island archipelago. This saw out as a result of a underwater eruption that is still yet to be discovered due to signs of the volcano dissapearing not long after the eruption.
War of the Southern Kingdoms
From 200 AD to 203 AD, the war of the Southern Kingdoms broke out between the Länkull people & the Yorbes Kingdom due to various disputes from islands such as Väldrok (modern day Pizza-Tower island), economic reasons but most importantly for expansion. Around 203 AD, after 3 years of war, the Länkull tribe was absorbed by the Yorbes Kingdom subsequent of the war.
The war had estimated to kill 30,000 people and the pillaging of various towns. Subsequent to this the Yorbes kingdom scorced earth in Numlöm, destroying the town & causing a wildfire that killed 700 people.
Yorbes Reign
For more than 1200 years, the island was reigned by Yorbes Kingdom. Not much is known except the Länkull Genocide where 7000 Länkull people were brutally murdered in 750 AD.
On October 9th, 1246AD, a JF3 Tornado struck Ŋurvelmarkön region in Central Yorbes land, killing 75 people and injuring more than 900 people. Along one of the deaths was the king Aubes the II, and subsequently died without an heir. This led to the Länkull rebellion of 1247AD, which lasted 3 months before conquering most of the land away.
"Golden" era and the merge
The Golden era was a prosperous time in the history of the island due to the creation of Lömkell university in the newly created Löckelle City. Important people such as poet Gälbor Ŋulšmar were harmoning the island and causing 50% of the population to be literate.
On 1756, the king of Länkull, Sven Jölmak united with the newly formed "Kingdom of Jaltoverse", to later on create the modern-day Jatoverse country. This led to a major increase in economic prosperity during the 18th & 19th century. The merging was supposed to take place in 1749 but was delayed after the island was devastated from a Mesq 6.9 earthquake just south of the capital city, 30km from the coast.
Modern & Contemporary era
On October 16th, 1786, the Löckelle gold rush occured when gold was discovered on the river banks of the Länber river in modern-day Löckelle, this lead to the economic boom of the 18th century and lasted until 1798.
On, October 9th, 1799, a Mesq 8.1 struck 10km from Våtriksönvar, registering JMIS 8, had destroyed 90% of Våtriksönvar, and killed more than 1,800 people and unknown injuries, it is also reported a "firewhirl" formed north of Våtriksönvar, registering JF1, killed 3 people and setting 75 homes on fire. The town of Våtriksönvar was left abandoned and subsequently moved to the Parvelmarkön district, just 25km from it's original land. The earthquake was a reverse fault earthquake that originated in the Jatoverse tectonic plate. The earthquake left a total of 750,000C¥ (94,000,000C¥ in the modern day) in damage and a speedy recovery of the island, fully recovering just 3 years after the earthquake.
Commercial boom of '08
On May 16th, 1908, the first aerodrome was installed on the Jatoverse country was installed as Löckelle - Zornikmarkön, the airport began as small aerodrome that served military aircrafts such as the Wright Model A & the Antoinette IV. The airport had a complete major upgrade in 1917 to accomodate more civil aircrafts & mail planes.
During this era too, the SOIJ (Seismological Observation Institute of the Jatoverse) was established in January 8th, 1908 by president Šuzsa Balmer at the time, who was born in Löckelle and had changed the capital temporary for the city to be Löckelle.
On March 16th, 1918, the city of Löckelle was stripped of it's capital status after the newly installed city of Beach City in Steven Universe by the same president, Šuzsa Balmer. 3 days later Šuzsa Balmer would succumb to heart failure.
Löckelle also prospered in the port industry and became the busiest port in Jatoverse, gaining 17,000,000,000C¥ (15,000,000,000 USD) per year during the commercial boom of '08.
Löckelle Civil War
Between August 9th 1941 - August 19th, 1941, the island of Löckelle suffered major riots and rebellions from the People's Communist Movement for Löckelle (PCML) and fought against the Armed Defense & Protection Forces of the Jatoverse (ADPFJ). Bombings occured as a result, as an estimation of 30 bombs were deployed in the total days of the armed war. This conflict lead to 199 deaths and 9355 injuries, after that, a ceasefire was agreed upon the PCML & the ADPFJ.
1999 Löckelle Earthquake
On Februrary 9th, 1999 at 10:53:35 PM JAST (6:53PM UTC 0+), a Mesq 6.4 earthquake struck 600m from the capital city of Teardown, Löckelle City, at a depth of 1.1km, the earthquake killed more than 17,000 people and is one of the few earthquakes that registered JMIS 9 (MMI XI). More than 30,000,000,000C¥ were lost due to damages from this earthquakes. This remains the deadliest earthquake in Löckelle history.
Crisis of '02 & 2009 Bombings
An economic recession struck on April 3rd, 2002 after stock exchanges such as JAD, JatoAir and most companies invested in the Jatoverse lost 13,3% - 30.5% in revenue during the upcoming years, this lead to more than 300,000 people in the Jatoverse to lose their jobs and Löckelle to lose 15% of it's businesses.
On May 16th, 2009, a series of coordinated bombings and attacks in Southern Lockelle District, around Löckelle City, Frustum & Ŋurvelmarkön city. These explosions lead to 153 deaths and 4313 injuries, remaining the worst attacks in Jatoverse during Peacetime. The attacks were lead by the People's Communist Movement for Löckelle (PCML), a communist paramilitary movement who opposed after Löckelle's involvement on the murder of 3 PCML militants after a shooutout in Orvak-Markön district. It is also the only bombing that registered on seismographs as JMIS 6 on a station 100m from a blast in Löckelle City. After major negotiations and large demonstrations, the PCML agreed to a permament ceasefire on July 6th, 2010 and the disbandment of the PCML.
