1999 Löckelle Earthquake
The 1999 Löckelle Earthquake (Löckellian: 1999 ÖstrenParvel Jordmäsber) was a major Mw6.5 earthquake that struck Löckelle city, the administrative capital of Teardown on Februrary 9th, 1999 at 10:53:35 PM JAST (UTC 0+), that resulted in over 17,000 deaths and 100,000+ injuries, leading major panic & 30% of Northern Löckelle to be destroyed. The earthquake was followed by a Mw4.4 foreshock that struck at 10:53:45 PM JAST. This marks the 3rd deadliest earthquake in the Jatoverse & the deadliest earthquake in Teardown's history.

Geology
Löckelle sits on the Löckelle-Ŋurvelmarkön left-lateral strike-slip fault line that streches from the capital-city up to Ŋurvelmarkön, just 75km from the capital, it is part of the Maldurmez ridge belt that forms the Rödšivar volcano range in Northern Löckelle and other areas. Within this region the seismicity of Löckelle was abnormally high. During 1997 - 2001, the average slippage was 3mm/s on the Jatoverse tectonic plate. Most earthquakes during this time were around 3.0 - 5.5's, with the largest earthquake before 1999 being the 1998 Ŋurvelmarkön earthquake, a Mw5.3 that struck the town of Frustum - Ŋurvelmarkön that injured 35 and caused minor damage with a hypocenter of 30km, resulting in a JMIS of 4.
Löckelle-Ŋurvelmarkön saw hypocenters in the years 1355, 1566, 1567, 1669, 1798, 1815, 1886, 1910, 1935, 1976 & 1998. Historicla records also shown destructive earthquakes struck Löckelle every 150 years or so. The latest destructive quake struck in 1976 when the Frustum - Jämberzjomi earthquake struck with a magnitude of 6.1, killing 17 people and injuring 300 people.
Foreshock
During the evening of Februrary 9th, 1999, various stations such as AM.LONX.00 registered slight distrubances during 4:03, 5:04 & 8:01 respectively, foreshocks with magnitudes 4.4, 3.1 & 2.7 struck the following hours, causing some confusion during the time, SOIJ stated minor earthquakes struck the metropolitan district and havent caused damage, despite some hairline cracks & powerline damage reported.
Mainshock
During the night at 10:53:35 PM JAST (UTC 0+), a violent jolt was felt across the Löckelle district registering JMIS 9 (MMI XI), causing major collapses and various collapses in important areas such as the Löckelle - Zornikmarkön airport's T3, the town hall of the district of Löckelle and etc. The shaking lasted an approximate 30 seconds before subsiding seconds later. Major power outages were registered in the whole Isolated Other Games Fandom district that lasted 3 days in total.
Widespread shaking was reported in various parts of the Jatoverse such as Beach City (Steven Universe) and as far as in Dress to Impress where JMIS 2 was observed.
A Landslide triggered a tsunami that struck various parts of the Jatoverse, with a runup as high as 10ft in Teardown.
Aftermath
More than 30% of Souther Lockelle suffered Grade 5 damage (quasi - total collapse) in the EMS-98 damage report and caused a temporary economic crisis due to the shut down of Löckelle Port and the restriction of resources into the island, more than 70% of transport in Löckelle was cut short due to the earthquake, food became sparse during the waking hours of the earthquake and the panic of other aftershocks. More than 70,000 people fled Löckelle due to the damage and unsurvivable conditions at the moment.
Then president at the time visited Löckelle to inspect the damage and acknowledge the damage caused by the earthquake, and gave out empathy & support for those affected by the earthquake.
Aid was sent hours after the earthquakes and to rescue those trapped under rubble during the earthquake from parts of the Jatoverse & Earth.
