2018 Dream Island earthquake
On January 10 2018, at 5:57:46 AM JATT, a Mw 6.4 earthquake struck offshore Dream Island with a depth of 18 km. Although the earthquake itself wasn't deadly because of it's magnitude, intensity and it being offshore, it still managed to kill Jax and Firey from Digital Circus and Dream Island respectively.

Earthquake
The earthquake struck offshore Dream Island. It was still dark at the time of the earthquake without sunlight visible.
Strong tremors were felt throughout Dream Island, Gameoverse, and Lackadaisy. To a lesser extent, Digital Circus and Gacha World.

Tsunami
Due to it's rather low magnitude and location, the resulting tsunami was rather small, and no tsunami warnings or advisories were issued (only forecasts/Sea level change).
30 cm waves were observed in Dream Island and Lackadaisy. 15 cm waves were observed in Digital Circus.
Aftermath

The earthquake left 14 injured and 2 killed. The two people killed were Jax (no one cares) and Firey (only one cared) from Digital Circus and Dream Island respectively.
Jax
Although seismic intensity in Digital Circus were of just JMIS 4 (corresponding to MMI V & Shindo 4), Jax (in her abstracted form) was killed after the tent (Not the Circus tent, the shack tent) she was sleeping in collapsed with her inside. Further investigation done by the Digital Circus members, IPJ and the SOIJ concluded that this was caused by failure to maintain a proper building code, as unlike the Circus tent, Jax's tent showed evident violations of the building code, such as the poles supporting the tent being placed directly on ground, inadequate center of mass of the cloth, among others.
Firey
Firey was killed after he tried to show off his girlfriend that the tsunami waves weren't deadly as they only were 30 cm high. Despite the small height of the waves, witnesses (including Leafy) claimed he was extinguished (killed) as the sea level slowly rose and touched him while he was flexing[1]
